5 Great St. Patricks Day Activities For Toddlers
How can it even be March already, yet almost the middle of March?! Since St. Patricks day is this week I wanted to share all of the activities we will be doing this week to celebrate the holiday. Every holiday is a reason to have fun, try these educational activities with your babies too!

St. Patricks Day Craft Ideas
Crafts are always an easy fun way to spend time with your toddler, lets start there.
Coffee Filter Rainbows:
A classic activity that I even remember doing as a child. Help your toddler color a rainbow on a coffee filter or decorate it in rainbow colors how ever they would like, then spray it with a spray bottle, let dry and hang on a window to allow the sun to come through. We have done this a few times already this month.
St. Patricks Day Print Outs
Google has so many options that you can print out to then either color with crayons and markers or paint. You could take it one step more and print out a tracing activity if you toddlers are older to start working on writing skills.
Sensory Play
If you aren’t new here, you know my love for sensory play. Heres 3 sensory ideas for this St. Patricks day.
Rainbow Jello Dig
Items Needed:
- Jello either in all 6 colors or color free jello to dye with food coloring
- Silicone Muffin Pan
- Dollar Tree gold coins
- Dollar Tree Cauldrons
- Medium Bin/Sensory Bin
This jello dig is so much fun, just add your jello to the muffin pan and have all the colors of the rainbow. Then add coins into each, and let sit in fridge for the needed amount of time. Once they are ready, add them to your bin and make a rainbow with your pots to collect the coins on each end. Help your toddlers find the coins in the jello and work on counting the coins and identifying the colors.
Fizzing Rainbow
Items Needed:
- Baking Soda
- Dish Soap
- Food Coloring
- Vinegar
- Cup
- Dropper
- Cauldrons
- Medium Bin / Sensory Table
A science experiment your toddler will love! Add baking soda, dish soup, and food coloring to your cauldrons. Then in a cup pour your vinegar in and add a dropper. Use the dropper to add the vinegar to each cauldron and watch the color explode.
Fishing for Gold Coins
Items Needed:
- Cauldrons
- Gold Coins
- Water
- Food Coloring
- Clovers
- Scoops
- 2 Medium Bins / Sensory Table
- Glitter
- Small Numbers
This is a great activity for the older toddlers learning to count. Simply set up your cauldrons with a number inside of them. Then in another bin add some water, green food coloring, glitter, some clovers and your coins. Use scoops and tongs to transport your coins into each cauldron until you reach that number.
