Whats in the Box?

So we already know each box comes with a guide filled with tons of Montessori based activities, how to use the toys and milestones to work on for the age group. It also comes with the insert to tell you when to introduce the toys. As always we will go in order with the insert to discuss each toy.

  • ‘Things I See’ Textured Cards: Flash cards with different syllable words and textured spots to go with each. These are SO good. My son will sit in front of me and listen to me read the words over and over again. Now at 8 1/2 months old he is also starting to recognize textures with each word as well.
  • My First Signs Book: This is set up to teach basic words our babies may need to use in sign language so they can learn to communicate with us earlier. My son focuses hard when I go over these but I think he may learn to say the words before he learns to sign them.
  • Nesting Stacking Drip Drop Cups: These are actually really cool. They stack into a tower, but the also fit perfectly inside one another. They also have different hole patterns inside each cup to be used in water.
  • Felt/Wood Ball Sets: Perfect to teach different colors, textures and weights. We put these inside of the treasure basket and he will have fun with these for hours.
  • Treasure Basket: great for sensory and imaginative play. Also great to just put some toys away in. The basket concept really follows the Montessori method and it is one of my sons favorite toys currently.
  • First Puzzle: Great for learning cause and affect of covering and uncovering something. I can’t seem to get my son to stop trying to eat this toy to even try to play with it. I think just like a lot of the toys in this months box. it will grow with him.
  • Ball Drop Box: this works perfectly with the wooden ball set we just talked about. Also works on the cause and affect when watching the ball fall through.
  • Drinking Cup: This is a HUGE Montessori tool and something I have yet to try. The point behind the metal cup is to avoid the sippy cup and teach to use regular cups you would already have. My problem with this one is I fear my son would accidentally hurt himself by biting it or hitting his face with it so I am saving this one for when he’s a little older.

Is the 7-8 Month kit worth it?

I would personally say this is one of the best kits looking through all of them. This one was very educational based. They all are, but this one really impressed me. If its worth it is up to you, but the price for the box versus buying all the similar products I have listed below is a cheaper option. Lovevery kits definitely make the decision part of buying your kids toys easier which is a huge factor in why I love it so much. As a new mom, the less things I have to worry about the better.
